meet my doggo

Hi loves,

A little bit of a different post today! It was only a matter of time before I talked about my puppy on here, the second I sat down to write this post he actually came and sat next to me so he must know today is all about him…I’m going to answer a few questions from the furry friend tag and then I’ll include some piccies for you all. Enjoy!

What is your pet’s name?
His name is Teddy (named by me) as he looks like a little Teddy bear and I just love the name in general, but mostly we just call him Ted.

What kind of pet is it and what breed?
He’s a doggo (in my eyes he’s still a puppy) and he’s a Shiz Tzu!

How long have you had your pet friend?
We got him on 1st February 2013 (I remember this super well because it’s also Harry’s birthday) so we’ve had him for nearly 4 and a half years now.

How did you get your pet?
A lot of hard work, it took me absolute years to finally let my parents allow me to have a dog, it was the only thing I’d wanted since I could ever say the word but my mum was really against the idea, until one day she felt so guilty for not letting me have what I’d always wanted and so for my 15th birthday I was allowed to get Ted.

How old is your pet?
Ted was born on 7th December 2012 so he’ll be 5 this year! I say this but he’s absolutely tiny and still looks like a baby, whenever we talk him for walks people always stop us and ask how old our puppy is and I’m like well…he’s nearly 5!

What are some quirky things about your pet’s personality?
Where do I even start… he’s like a little human. Or toddler (mostly a baby), this may sound weird but he’s literally the funniest thing I’ve ever encountered, I don’t think anything / anyone else makes me laugh as much as he does. He potters around and turns his nose up at any food you put in front of him unless it’s a treat or something with cheese in, he’ll greet you in the morning and then decide he can’t be bothered to stay awake yet so he’ll go and get back into bed until something more exciting catches his attention. He barks at everything either out of excitement or because he thinks you’re an intruder, if you’re eating and he wants some he’ll purposely sneeze on it to get on your nerves. He runs up and down the stairs and escapes through doors at the first chance he gets and his favourite things to run off with are receipts and tissues. If you’re going to take him for a walk the second he sees his lead he’s off like a lightning bolt because he loves you to chase him and there’s no way you’re putting that collar around his neck. Don’t even try to hoover or wipe the floor because dusters and swifters are his next favourite things to try and steal off you and he’ll howl at the hoover because he wants you to try and suck him up it (I’m not joking). He dances, does pat-a-cake and will give you a hi-five or a kiss if you ask nice enough (or if there’s a treat at the end of it). The second you sit down he’ll be on your lap refusing to get off and he’s the most affectionate thing I’ve ever known, he’ll follow you around like a little shadow and I’ve had better conversations with him than I have most humans. Oh, and he’ll bark at you to feed him his dog food off of a fork because 99% of the time he doesn’t eat it out the bowl, and if there’s any round his mouth he’ll happily sit there and let you use a baby wipe to get it off. He’s also recently started to jump on top of the pouffe before we move it across the room so it’s like something from the magic flying carpet scene in Aladdin.

What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?
Absolutely everything, I’m pretty sure Ted is the love of my life and he’s my best best bestest friend. I tell him everything and he just sits there and listens and he’s just a little bundle of furry joy, he makes me laugh constantly. I just absolutely adore him with my whole entire heart, I don’t know where I’d be without him.

What are some of your favorite past times with your pet?
I feel like I’m taking these questions way overboard but sharing food? If I’m eating something hella good he’ll happily sit there and enjoy eating it with me, or on Sundays when we’re both too tired to get up I’ll get back into bed and he’ll snuggle under the covers with me and doze off (he actually puts his head on the pillow). I think just generally sharing life, if we go on holiday in this country he always comes with us obviously, and I love just taking him for walks along the beach and letting him just have the time of his life meeting new doggos and people. I always want him to have the best time.

What are nicknames that you call your pet?
There are so many I can’t even remember, Ted, Tedster, puppy, Nemo, Minnie, angel, baby love, (the others are too embarrassing to type so I’ll stop there) but a lot of the nicknames we call him aren’t even his name, we just like them.
