It’s that time again! Songs I’ve been loving in the month of May, there’s gonna be a fat long list this month because lots of songs came out in April that were too late to be included in my April post, so I’ve shoved them all into May instead. Anyway – let’s go.

My angel babe and Queen of the Universe released some new music, FINALLY. Sweetner is going to be the death of me – my wig? Snatched. My depression? Cured. My skin? Cleared. I’M SO EXCITED FOR THIS ERA. I love this song so much.

I was debating whether to even include the music video for this because the first time I saw it I genuinely couldn’t breathe, you know when people say someone’s jaw was on the floor? My jaw was genuinely on the floor. I was catching flies my mouth was open that wide. How can someone look this good, how. It’s impossible. He literally looks like the face of God. I was mesmerised. Not to mention the song is amazing. But his face? I can’t. My brain can’t compute it, it’s like, my eyes stop working when I look at him and my brain malfunctions because I just can’t understand how someone can look like that. His face was carved by angels. Anyway, watch this at your own risk.

youngblood – 5SOS

Babes are back for their new era and we got to hear Youngblood !! So exciting and also a very good song, I’m loving where they’re taking their music and cannot wait to hear the album. I said this in my last music post where I spoke about Want You Back but I’ve missed them on my playlists so much, I’m so happy they’re back.

I don’t know how I ended up on the country side of Youtube but I was there and ended up coming across this song, which I really like – the lyrics are super sweet and hey, we have to appreciate country sometimes right?

dreams – ruti

Ruti was the winner of The Voice UK 2018 and her voice is so angelic and dreamy, this is her winner’s single and it’s absolutely beautiful, you’ll be missing out if you don’t take a listen.

I’m pretty sure every single music post I’ve ever done has included PM and I’m pretty sure I’ve also said that in all of my posts too, but every single song they release is a hit. So catchy and just an all round general bop – Hello was one of the songs they were performing live on tour but hadn’t actually released yet and now finally we have the studio version – no more listening to the live version ft. a bunch of screaming!

Another song on the PM EP – this one had never been released or performed before so it was completely new and probably the saddest song they’ve ever released so far (and it’s not even sad, which shows how happy their music in general is) but again, I looove it.

all I want is you – miguel ft. j cole

I was going through Miguel’s music and saw this song which I’d somehow never listened to before and once I did I was like…where has this been all of my life. Two of my favourite artists on one song and well, it’s great, basically.

pretty girl – clairo

I actually got recommended this by you guys (thank you!!) and initially it took me a couple of plays to get into it but once I did I was like woooow, in love. Super catchy and I love the simpleness of it, especially the music video! The lyrics and message in general are just great, definitely the type of music I normally listen to.

BOY – charlie puth

I don’t think many people will know this but I literally have the biggest crush on Charlie Puth, he’s a little darling and one of the cutest people I’ve ever seen. I just really like him okay, he’s very pretty and so is his voice – he released his album Voice Notes this month and this is one of my favourite songs from it – it’s very 90s, which is me all over.

Again, another of my favourites from the album, he does a lot of “ooooo”ing in this and it sounds really great, basically.

Another one of my favourites – SO CATCHY. Just listen, okay. It’ll be in your head for the next week.

isaac waddington – doing wrong

This guy was on BGT years ago now but I always really liked his voice and lately he’s been releasing a few songs here and there – this is one of them. Like with Clairo, this is the type of music I normally listen to and I absolutely love this song, I’ve had it on repeat for the whole month.

candy paint – post malone

Suuuuuper catchy and possibly my favourite from the beerbongs & bentleys album. (Other faves include Better Now & Paranoid).

sing to me – jhene aiko ft. namiko love

If you guys haven’t already seen this video I suggest you stop reading this and watch it asap, I bawled my little eyes out. It’s SO cute. I love everything about it. Namiko is Jhene Aiko’s daughter and they wrote this song together and (obviously) sing it together. They performed it at Dear Mama and like I said, I just cried and cried. It’s so beautiful.

Like Let Me, this song messed me up, again – watch the music video at your own risk or possibly shield your eyes if you don’t want them to melt into your head because my brain still can’t compute how someone can look like an actual God and have no flaws whatsoever, but anyway, this song (again) is so good, but would we expect anything less? No way.

like to be you – shawn mendes ft. julia michaels

Shawn released his self titled album this month!! Yay yay yay. This is one of the songs on their and I love the whole acoustic vibe and how pretty their voices sound together, I’ve had it on repeat ever since (a definite favourite from the album).

where were you in the morning – shawn mendes

Probably my favourite off the whole album, it gives me kinda Maroon 5 vibes for absolutely no reason at all because I honestly couldn’t tell you why (possibly Sunday Morning??) but who knows. It’s so catchy and I love the whole sound of it. Obsessed.
