KPOP SIGNED ALBUM HAUL #1 – BTS, GOT7, SHINEE

Guys,

I did something bad. Something really bad.

Don’t ask me how this happened, one moment I was looking at signed Kpop albums on the internet and the next thing…they were all in my cart and I’d bought them.

Honestly, I’ve no idea how it happened. It just did.

So anyway, aside from now being in debt for next 100 years of my life, I’m the proud owner of some signed Kpop albums and I’m so happy and excited that I could scream, I still can’t believe it.

I also can’t believe it when I look at my current bank balance but you know, I’ll get over it.

Right now I have 10 signed albums in total so I thought I’d split everything into separate posts and do 3 in each – in this one I’m going to show you the BTS, GOT7 and SHINee signed albums (!!!) I bought. However, just be warned this probably will end up turning into a series because I have no self control. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

BTS
Dark and Wild Signed Promo Album

Lord. Look how pretty this is. I’m putting this one first because I still cannot believe I actually own it, if you know anything about Kpop / BTS you’ll know this stuff is like gold dust and practically impossible to get hold of (signed copies) so the fact I now have it sitting on my shelf makes me want to explode. It’s even rarer because it’s a promo copy and not a retail copy which means this was never sold in stores (promo copies are gifted to broadcasting companies and are not for sale unlike the retail versions which are the ones sold to the public, but I’ll explain that at the end of the post) so this is like, a limited edition of a limited edition…I could scream.

I love, love, love the Dark and Wild album, the whole concept of it and the vibe of it was so good, I had a choice between this and a few of the more recent BTS albums to choose from but in the end I decided to buy this one because my heart just holds a special place for Dark and Wild. Also, this was Tae’s era and I’ll never get over it. Seriously, flipping through the photo booklet was the best thing I’ve ever done (there’s something so satisfying about having physical copies of photos rather than just looking at them on Google). Even the front of the album is beautiful with its iridescent / monochrome (whatever you wanna call it) colours. I’m obsessed. 10/10.

SHINee
The Story of Light Ep 3 Signed Promo Album

pretty sure this was done by SM but I knew that when I bought it so SHAME ON ME

Again, I still cannot believe I actually own this. If you know me you know that SHINee hold the biggest place in my heart and so to own a signed version of their latest album (and probably their last album as a group for a good while…) my heart.

This is also another promo album which makes it even rarer, The Story of Light was split into 3 albums – Ep 1, Ep 2 and Ep 3 – all of the Ep 1s were sold out by the time I got around to them and so the choice was between Ep 2 and Ep 3, but I went for Ep 3 in the end because I liked the cover better. This is such a beautiful album and I’m so grateful to own it, especially because like I said, this is the last one SHINee will be making for a long time, so to know I have a signed copy of it makes me want to cry – a signed promo copy of it, at that. Like wow. I would die for SHINee, literally I want to just give them everything. My heart.

Onew
Voice Promo Album

I had to include this here because the seller that I bought the SHINee album from was an absolute angel, I ordered two signed albums from her (the other signed album will be in the next haul) and so they came in the same package but it looked a lot bigger than I’d expected – when I was undoing all of the wrapping I saw a third album and was confused because I’d only ordered two – I’d opened the package the wrong way and so the album was face down and all I could see was the 비매 (bimae – promo) sticker and a blue cover and so I turned it over and what did I discover I now owned???? A promo version of Onew’s first mini album, Voice. (Onew is the leader of SHInee, if you’re not sure who I’m talking about). I literally shrieked. Like seriously what an angel to send me a a freaking promo version of Onew’s album as a gift, it’s hands down the best free gift I’ve ever had – the fact that I’d bought the SHINee album and so she sent me his album along with it as an extra (not even the retail version, a freaking promo version). Honestly the sweetest gesture ever, I’m so so grateful and the album is so beautiful, I’m so happy I now own a copy of it. Also look at the photocard !! What a cutie.

GOT7
Eyes On You Signed Promo Album

I won’t show the back of this one for privacy reasons as it has company contact details on since it’s a promo album and I’m too lazy to blur them out for the sake of a photo hnhasdajsd

Mark in this literally makes me wheeze HNASDHASDJ IM SO SORRY SWEETIE

This is hands down my favourite signed album that I own. When I first saw this I instantly knew I had to buy it, it was simply calling my name – this whole album concept, photoshoot etc. has always been one of (if not) my favourite and so I just had to have it. First of all I got 2 BamBam photo cards so straight away I was screaming, second of all I took the dust jacket off (which I didn’t realise was even a dust jacket until it started moving) and turned it over to realise there was a poster of Yugyeom on the other side who, looks like he’s been created by the angels themselves in this concept – he looks so beautiful and like I said the whole look of this album was one of my favourites so at this point I was yelling. I assume the dust jackets vary with the different photos of each member so the fact I got Yugyeom’s made me want to cry with happiness. Anyway, this whole album is so freaking beautiful I can’t even tell you, it also came with a Mark poster and a Jinyoung photocard as well as the other extras and the whole booklet is magical and the photos are perfect and everything about it is perfect and I’m so happy, basically – I love these types of albums (the rectangular photo books) so much more than the square box ones and everything about it was 10/10. JYP are doing it right, Honestly, can you tell I’m in love with it. This photoshoot was one of my favourites so to know I now have an album booklet full of it means I can die happy. Honestly, what more could a girl ask for. I’M SO OBSESSED WITH THIS ALBUM I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

P.S. I ended up swapping the Jinyoung photocard for a BamBam so now I have 3 BamBam’s instead because we all need to appreciate the king.

Promo Albums vs. Retail Albums

Just a lil info on the difference between a promo album vs. a retail album if anyone’s interested ♡

Promo Albums – Promo albums are made for the sole purpose of being gifted to broadcasting companies, staff, people who work in the industry, etc. and are therefore rare to find / own because unless you’ve been given one, there’s no way to get your hands on one. As they’re purely for broadcasting companies and members of staff, they’re not for sale purposes and this will be stated on the back of the album in the form of a sticker that says “Not for Sale” / 비매 (not for sale) / or lack of barcode – if there is a barcode on the CD, it will usually be covered up by the company’s sticker (aka, the company’s contact information).

Now, you’re probably wondering, Chlo – how did you manage to get a promo album if they’re only gifted to people who work in the industry? Well, not everyone in the industry wants to own a signed copy of a specific album, therefore they’ll sell them on or give them away.

And that my friends, is how you get your hands on one.

Even though they’re not supposed to be sold, they are, and they’re rare to get your hands on if for example 50 of them have been given out to staff members and 5 of them decide they don’t actually want them. That’s 5 signed versions that thousands of people want to get their hands on. They’re expensive and rare, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for them.

Retail Albums – These are literally just the albums that get sold to the general public – if you walked into HMV (rip) to buy an album or went on Amazon to look for it, you’d be buying the retail version. It’s as simple as that!
