Hi angels,
What’s this I hear you ask ?? Chloe watching TV shows ?? The same Chloe that never watches TV shows ’cause she doesn’t find them all that interesting??
Well finally I’ve watched enough recently that I can actually make a post out of. Hallelujah.
I don’t know what it is about TV and movies, but I just don’t have the attention span for them. It’s like, if I know I have to dedicate a certain amount of time to sitting still and watching something, I freak out. You want me to waste 3 precious hours of my day to sit still and watch this movie??? No no no.
I actually think it might be an anxiety thing, like I freak out about the fact that for the next however many hours I have to sit there and watch something and I just…nope, it doesn’t appeal to me. I’m weird, I know.
There are exceptions though, if I find something that completely captivates me then I’ll suddenly become an avid binge watcher and I spend a lot of time on Youtube as well (which takes away half of the anxiety because then at least I can see how long a video is before I take the plunge and watch it – I know what you’re thinking – get a life Chloe).
So here are some shows that I’ve really been into (and have watched a lot of) lately, and by lately I mean the last 6 months because as I said I never watch anything therefore it takes a considerable amount of time for me to put a list together that has more than one show in it. Well done Chloe.
P.S. – Do I need to stop talking about myself in third person ?? I seem to do that a lot. Am I crazy? Probably.

Netflix
Apart from the fact my monthly Netflix subscription goes to waste because I can go without using it for months at a time, here are some shows that are 100% worth watching if you get the chance.
🎬
Making A Murderer (1 & 2)
The original series for this came out in December 2015 and I absolutely loved it. I binge watched the whole thing within the space of about a day because I just could not turn it off. The series is about a man named Steven Avery who was wrongfully convicted for the sexual assault and attempted murder of a woman in 1985 and put behind bars for 18 years until DNA testing finally got him exonerated. He was released in 2003 but just 2 years later he was put back behind bars due to being charged with the murder of a woman named Teresa Halbach.
My review of this is biased here but I 100% believe that Steven Avery is innocent. To cut a long story short, the police basically have it in for him and his family and will do anything they can to ruin their lives and ensure Steven is behind bars for the rest of his life. They achieved it in the first instance with the sexual assault and attempted murder and rape, and they did it again with the murder of Teresa Halbach. They will just not let this man go. To make matters worse, in trying to put Steven behind bards for the murder of Teresa Halbach, they interviewed Steven’s nephew Brendan Dassey, a 16 year old with mental limitations, and coerced him into giving a false confession. Both men were put behind bars for the murder of Teresa Halbach and the Netflix series follows these trials and the aftermath. The second season was released in October this year and again I was completely hooked, the truth always comes out in the end and I know that at some point both of these innocent men will be freed.

Sierra Burgess Is A Loser
I’d saw the trailer for this being advertised over the space of a few months and thought it looked really interesting. I wasn’t paying attention to when it was going to be released but I just happened to be scrolling through Netflix the other day and low and behold there it was. This follows the story of a girl name Sierra who excels in her studies and is not your typical ‘popular highschool girl’ – because of this she gets bullied as she is seen by the populars as somewhat of a social outcast. One day a (very cute) guy Jamey asks the lead popular girl Veronica for her number but as Jamey’s friends also seem to be social outcasts, there’s no way Veronica wants anything to do with him. Instead of giving him her own number, she gives him Sierra’s instead and it all unravels from there…
I don’t usually fall for things like this because it all feels a little too cliche and staged for me, but I can honestly say I absolutely loved this and I’m so glad I watched it. It was so good, I even may or may not have shed a tear. I’d 100% recommend, it was the perfect mix of everything and absolutely not the cringey fake high school mess I was expecting, the whole thing was played out really well. Ten out of ten.
🎬
Riverdale
I was actually late to the party on Riverdale because I only began watching it at the beginning of this year aka, a year after it came out. All I can say is that I’m absolutely hooked. Hook line and sinker. I binged watched both seasons within the space of 0.2 seconds and now I just sit there every week waiting for the new episodes to get uploaded to Netflix (I feel like I waited 80 years for season 3). There are some things that happen in it that are just plain ridiculous and I do sit there sometimes thinking to myself what the fuck but you know, I’ll get over it. There’s always something crazy and ridiculous going on in Riverdale not to mention the characters and casting are so good. I feel like I could have a million things to say about this but I’m sure most of you guys have seen it already (because let’s be honest if you haven’t seen Riverdale by now you must be living under a rock). This is just a quick note to say hi. I love Riverdale. I’m absolutely obsessed.
🎬🎬🎬
Now, as I said before, I watch a lot of Youtube, and you know what’s on Youtube?
TV episodes.
Here are some (they’re not English, by the way) TV series / episodes I’ve been watching thanks to the beauty that is Yotutube. Also, shoutout to English subtitles for saving my life.
🎬
Weekly Idol
Weekly Idol is a South Korean variety show that airs every week, it’s been going since 2011 so they’re now nearly on episode 400 or something crazy but each week they have a special Kpop guest on their show. They do dance routines and play games and it’s just basically a place where idols can mess around and have fun – it’s super entertaining. It’s really casual and candid and it’s like a lot of English shows but I cannot for the life of me think of one to compare it to. Anyway, I just go through the list of episodes and pick out the ones that have my favourite idols in and I watch those (I was actually in the middle of watching one before I started writing this post). Like I said it’s super entertaining and really funny and also a great way to discover new Kpop artists. I love it.
🎬
Let Go Of My Baby
This is actually a Chinese show and the only reason I started watching it was because Jackson from Got7 was taking part in it but oh my God it’s so good. It’s basically a show where parents let celebrities look after their children for around a month. It’s great. They live somewhere called the Baby House which is specifically designed for children and they’re given different tasks and activities to do, they also go on trips and basically become a little family because the celebrities have to look after the children 24/7 by themselves. There’s also an unlimited number of children that can live in the baby house so the number just keeps increasing (they literally just leave the child in front of the door and the celebrities have to take it it) and sometimes it’s just chaos, especially if the other celebrities have had to go out shopping or something and it’s just one celebrity looking after 7 children in the house.
I’ve only watched season 3 but I’m definitely planning on watching the other 2 seasons as well, I really wish there was something like it in the UK because it’s seriously such a good idea and so interesting to watch, the concept is great – super cute and interesting. 100% recommend.
🎬
Run BTS
You didn’t think I was gonna write a post and not mention BTS did you? Now these episodes I didn’t watch on Youtube, I watched them on VLive instead – they are on Youtube but there are a few missing and it’s easier just to watch them on VLive because that’s where they were uploaded in the first place. Anyway, Run BTS is a show where in each episode the boys are given an activity or challenge to do and the episode is just them completing said activity / challenge. There’s 2 seasons and 56 episodes in total (they’re taking a break before they start filming season 3 and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sad about it) and I binge watched all of them within the space of a few days which I’d say is a little excessive considering the episodes can be up to an hour long but hey, I was hooked. BTS are just naturally entertaining and I could watch them forever because they’re so, so funny so this for me was just the best thing ever. Bring on season 3.
🎬
BTS Bon Voyage
Bon Voyage is a reality show about BTS travelling to different places around the globe and just basically living there as if they were on holiday. They have to catch their own flights, find their way to the accommodation, do all the food shopping, washing etc. They basically just get put into every day situations like they would if they weren’t idols and it’s so interesting to watch because apart from the fact it’s hilariously entertaining, it really shows you who they are as people because they’re just living with each other and doing everything independently which they’re not always used to. The problem with this is that you have to pay to watch the episodes (but who am I kidding, I was never gonna do that) so of course you can find them on the internet for free if you do a little searching. Again, I binge watched all of these within the space of maybe a week (which is ridiculous because each episode can be up to an hour long). There’s 3 seasons and 24 main episodes altogether (there’s extra behind the scene episodes and stuff as well though) – the first season is set in Northern Europe, the second season takes place in Hawaii and the third season which just recently came out is set in Malta. Best believe I’ve watched all 3 seasons already so uh, bring on season 4.
🎬🎬🎬
(Obviously all of the foreign ones I’ve just mentioned have English subtitles).
Let me know if you’ve seen any of these loves and if you have any recommendations for things to watch next!
All my love,
Chloe .xx

I watched the first season of Riverdale but never seemed to get into the second season so I stopped watching it. Have yet to see Sierra Burgess – I worried it would be a cheesy teenage drama so thank you for your review as I will now give it a chance. xx

I have watched two episodes of Riverdale but never really got hooked about it. Considering that I’m obsessed with Cole Sprouse but I just didn’t like the plot bec I grew up reading the comics and it’s a lot different than the show. Haha you should watch Brooklyn Nine Nine! It’s really funny 😬

Yeah I’ve heard that a lot! I always find it difficult to adapt to movies / TV when it strays away from the original written story (I usually always prefer the book anyway) so I get where you’re coming from. A lot of people have recommended Brooklyn Nine Nine to me as well, that may have to be next on the list! X

I always find it really interesting to see what other people are watching at the moment. I did watch Riverdale for a while but I’m definitely not up to date! I also used to be a big k-pop fan and had no idea that there’s while TV shows dedicated to some of them!

It kind of fell off halfway through season 2 I feel but it definitely picked back up again and I’m really enjoying season 3 so far – so much going on !! Who was your favourite Kpop artist?! There’s a lot of programmes dedicated to them (it’s taking me ages to find them though) but there’s another one too called Idol Room, it’s like a fuller version of Weekly Idol, I love that one too! x
