Music of the Month – May

Hello my loves,

This post is somewhat late due to the world’s current events and the fact that I don’t feel comfortable posting anything other than BLM content right now because it’s so, so important however, I’m still in the process of putting posts together because I have so much I want to talk about and share and I want to get it right so, naturally, it’s taking me a lot of time.

death by a thousand cuts – taylor swift

I heard Taylor sing this acoustically at her Tiny Desk Concert and instantly was like…why have I never paid attention to this song before ?? It’s no secret that I’m not a huge fan of T Swift’s music after the 1989 era because I feel like it just lost all its magic for me, however, this song really brought it back. I then listened to the studio version and instantly understood why I’d never acknowledged it before, and it’s because it sounds nothing like the acoustic version nor does it have the same feeling  –  it has a bunch of poppy beats thrown over it that in my opinion ruined it. I however really did like the lyrics and so basically forced myself to listen to the studio version enough times that I stopped disliking it, and here we are.

wildflower – 5sos

This song has grown on me a lot lately, I’d find it randomly popping into my head because it’s just so catchy. 5SOS are in their musical prime right now. I also love this music video a lot.

cayendo (side a – acoustic) – frank ocean

It’s no secret that I adore Frank Ocean, he’s probably the love of my life. This song is just devastatingly beautiful, there’s no other way for me to describe it. It’s just incredible. I love it so, so much. A masterpiece.

pretty girls – jaylon ashaun, jesse leprotti

I heard this in the background of a Youtube video and thought it was super catchy. Perks of watching so many Youtube videos is that you can always find great under-appreciated music through them!

sea – golden child

Golden Child are just really cute, and this song is like a guilty a pleasure because if I listened to it objectively it’d really make me cringe, however, they’re so cute I don’t even care and this song is just really fun and bright and happy. I love them.

attracted woman – monsta x

Not sure what the thought process was for the title of this song but it’s a hidden gem and I’ve really been enjoying it lately. Yoo Kihyun vocal king.

nonstop – nct 127

I had to replay the beginning of this 3498394823 times because I couldn’t get over the fact Jaehyun was RAPPING ???? The Lord has answered our prayers. Amen. This song gets an 11/10 just for that.

not by the moon – got7

I’ve given myself a few weeks to warm up to this song, I love it but it’s not my favourite comeback of all time, however, it deserves a mention because it’s still so good and well, babies. Jackson’s “나의 모든 게 너로부터 살아나, 널 영원히 놓지 않을 거야 난” is my favourite ever, it’s just *chef’s kiss*.

aura – got7

We love a GOT7 comeback and the TALENT it brings. I actually like this better than the title track, I just love how cool it sounds, and I like the use of the autotune too.

Mum I love them. I loooove them. They’re the best. The chorus to this is just so catchy, it’s been stuck in my head all month. I’ll just wake up some mornings and it’s just stuck in my head. I’m not complaining. The whole “너의 창을 knock knock 두드려대, 한밤의 love love serenade, yeah I need you in my life, I want you for my whole life” ??? OOF.

ridin – nct dream

Dreamies are killing it lately !! This song is so catchy and the dance routine ?? *chef’s kiss*

7 days – nct dream

My favourite Kpop song of the month !! I heard this in the background of a Dream appearance and was like wait…what’s this??? It’s so catchy !!! I couldn’t believe I’d never heard it before but now I’m making up for it as it’s been on repeat non-stop since. I love this one so much.
