what i got for christmas 2020 🎄

Hello my loves,

Happy belated Christmas! I hope you all had the most wonderful day despite the circumstances.

As you’ll know if you’ve been around for a while now, every year I do a what I got for Christmas post and of course, this year is no different. This year for me personally has been my favourite year in terms of the presents I received, because everything was just so perfect and I was like wow, this is just my dream Christmas – everything was spot on !! I don’t mean that in an ungrateful way because every year I am so grateful for all of the things I receive but, this year just felt extra exciting to me. Let’s go ✨

p.s. sorry for the awful lighting in these photos – England is so dark and gloomy right now I haven’t seen sunlight in days

I got these absolutely beautiful Vivienne Westwood earrings! I always wear hoops and huggie hoops because stud earrings are a little bit boring for me, but my mum owns a pair of these and I thought they were really beautiful and definitely not boring and therefore asked for a pair myself. I think these are going to become part of my everyday set!

I wish I could’ve taken a better picture of this but the ring just did not wanna stand up in the box. This is probably one of if not my favourite present this year, because it just means so much to me. My mum used to have this engagement ring that she wore ever since…she got engaged to my dad, which was before I was even born. I always loved this ring so much and wanted it to be passed down to me one day, but unfortunately a few years ago my mum was ill and had to have the ring cut off meaning it was…no longer usable. I was distraught. Knowing this, my parents this year bought me a pretty much identical ring and it’s now just my favourite thing ever. I haven’t taken it off since I opened the box and don’t plan to either. I can’t believe I own one of these now because it’s just the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen. I’m obsessed !!

If you saw my updated jewellery collection from earlier this year you’ll have seen that I have a similar necklace to this from And Other Stories, but it’s much chunkier. I love that coin necklaces have essentially come back into fashion now as I used to wear them a lot when I was younger (not that you have to wear things only according to fashion) but essentially, I wanted a daintier version of the gold coin necklace and so I asked for this beautiful version from Missoma. I am obsessed. It’s so gorgeous and I want to wear it as part of my everyday collection now however, I’m currently already wearing 3 silver necklaces and I don’t want to get them all tangled so I don’t know what to do. Not the point and you guys don’t care – moving on.

🎄🎄🎄

Vinyls

I asked for a couple of vinyls this year to add to my ever-growing collection and I’m so obsessed with all of them, they’re absolutely beautiful. The folklore one wasn’t supposed to arrive until the second week of January either so I was so surprised when I opened it on Christmas day as I didn’t think it would arrive in time! Also…Grease. The love of my whole entire life. Adore adore adore. I had to have it. Processed with VSCO with c1 presetProcessed with VSCO with b1 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 preset

I got some Airpods which I was never really into until a couple of months ago when I realised how much time I actually spend talking on the phone and therefore how annoying it is to literally be chained to my phone for hours on end because I can’t move anywhere without having to take the whole device with me because…headphone wires. Now that I have these I’m obsessed and can’t believe I only just saw the brilliance in them recently…I literally haven’t taken them out !!

🎄🎄🎄

Jellycat

Anyone would think I had an obsession with Jellycat and stuffed animals because uh…I received 8 this year. I just love plush toys because the world can be so horrible and cruel and everything makes me anxious and cute fluffy stuffed animals make me feel like everything’s gonna be okay, you know? They bring me lots of joy and I love them. Jellycat is my favourite plush brand because their quality is just insane (hence why they’re so expensive) but it’s so worth it because you 100% get what you pay for. I sent a few options over of a Jellycat my parents could get me if they wanted to this year and uh…they decided to get everything I sent them as well as a couple of extras which I hadn’t asked for and therefore wasn’t expecting. I was on the floor. I got two dogs, four bunnies, one elephant and a giraffe. I was so surprised I actually had some of them because they’re always out of stock whenever I look and so wasn’t expecting them at all, but my parents said they searched really hard to find them for me and had to basically buy them from everywhere which I thought was just the sweetest. I’m so happy !!

Dumbo

I also received this amazing vintage Dumbo plush which, if you guys didn’t know…I am Dumbo’s biggest fan. He’s my favourite thing ever. This is an original Dumbo that they first sold in Disneyland back in the 60s and I just thought this was the coolest thing ever, I love him.

I got this insane skylight which is probably the best thing I’ve ever asked for – it puts the galaxy on your ceiling and now I’m wondering how I ever lived life without it. I saw these around 6 months ago and was like…I need that. And now I will never live without one ever again. The sickest thing ever.

I lovelovelove candles and so asked for another one this year and I got three instead! My brother picked these out for me and I just think they’re the sweetest thing – I know you can’t see them properly but the boxes were just too cute not to show. I love them!

Is it really Christmas if you didn’t receive at least one bit of chocolate? I now have enough to last me until next Christmas apparently…and I’m not complaining!

I got this really lovely elephant diffuser for my room (which you can’t see properly and for that I apologise) but as you guys know, anything elephant related is just my favourite thing and this is so cute. I can’t wait to start using it.

Speaking of elephants I also got this tiny little porcelain one from my friend because life is hard sometimes and I struggle a lot and she likes to make sure I never forget how loved I am. She said she thought this present would be my favourite out of the ones she got me and she was right, I adore this one so, so much.

I got this gorgeous little Christmas glass with my initial on (again, apologies for the lighting, I only remembered to take a picture of this as we were going to eat Christmas dinner). I love these types of glasses so much and every time I see one I have to have it, my parents bought me and my brother one of these and he opened his first and when I saw it I was secretly praying on the inside that they’d also bought me one too because I’m just obsessed with things like this!

I had to include these because you know, who doesn’t want an excuse to look at H. Anyone would think I was in love with this man (I’ve no idea why, it’s not like I haven’t spoken about him every second of the day since I was 12 years old) but I always think it’s really sweet when people buy things like this for me because it’s personal and I think it’s really sweet that people take an interest in the people I love. If anyone’s wondering, the little spray bottle at the top is actually a H…scent? Musk? I don’t know. Apparently it was a best seller this year and it smells of pinewood and all the nice things so, I’m very grateful for it.

🎄🎄🎄

Other little bits and bobs I got this year were things like money, pyjamas, bed socks, perfume, body sprays and little things like that. I am so incredibly grateful for everything I received this year and this for me was probably one of my best years ever for the presents I received because it was all just so perfect. I hope you guys had the most wonderful Christmas despite everything going on in the world right now, I hope you got everything you wanted and I hope you had a wonderful day whatever you celebrate.

All my love,

Chloe .xx

  3. It’s cool to see posts like these because bloggers often get things that I never considered getting, and give me inspiration for future gifts. Whenever my mom asks me what I want for my birthday or Christmas, I don’t know what I want. This year, my husband and I decided not to give each other gifts and that a personal thing. I did end up buying a ton of Lindt chocolate truffles, because who doesn’t like chocolate, right?

    1. I agree! I always love seeing these types of posts / videos as they give me such good ideas when it comes to gift giving. I always struggle to know what to ask for for Christmas and birthdays, especially since they’re only a month apart for me, but I’ve found that writing down little bits and pieces on a list throughout the year is the way to go! It’s really helped me because that way when I get asked, I can just refer to my list and think oh, this would be nice! Lindt chocolate is so good, I don’t blame you for buying so much of it !! I would do exactly the same .xx

  4. I know ‘What I Got For Christmas’ can be a controversial post to upload but I do love seeing what people got for Christmas and also because it gives me ideas of what to get people for their birthdays/next Christmas (kind-of like a Gift Guide). It looks like you have some people in your life who really know you well! xx

    1. I think as long as there’s no bragging involved I don’t see the problem in what I got for Christmas posts / videos, I personally love watching them on Youtube each year! I will never understand people who watch those videos and then write spiteful comments afterwards – if you’re jealous before you’ve even watched the video or think you’re going to be jealous afterwards, don’t watch it !! It’s also a nice little memory holder for me since I can always look back to see what I got and when. Thank you! xx

  5. What a sweet post Chloe! Your coin necklace from Missoma absolutely has my heart. So dainty and chic! I have a similar one but it’s not great quality. The gold has started to rub off.. I think I wore it in the shower one too many times before I realised how bad that is!

    1. Thank you! 1000% I can see how that jewellery is right up your street, it has your name written all over it! That’s also another reason I only wear sterling silver for everyday jewellery as gold / rose gold comes off easily and always gets a brassy tone to it! xx
